Woodworking & Furniture Making

Artist Statement

As a furniture maker and woodworker, my work is a dialogue between tradition and innovation, nature and human instinct. I use techniques like bending, coopering, and upholstery to reimagine the linear structure of wood, transforming it into forms that are warm and inviting. My work seeks to evoke a tactile sense of comfort and belonging. I am deeply fascinated by the objects we choose to surround ourselves with and the individuality that defines what makes a space feel like home. Each piece of furniture becomes an extension of its owner, reflecting their personality, their needs, and their unique sense of beauty. This exploration of our instinct to nest—to create safe and comfortable spaces—is at the heart of my practice. Drawing inspiration from historical furniture and ornament, I seek to modernize these forms using contemporary techniques. By bridging the past and present, I hope to create pieces that feel timeless yet deeply rooted in the now, objects that honor tradition while embracing the possibilities of the future.
