PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Peters Valley School of Craft, Layton NJ (2021-Present)

  • Education Director 

    • Curates the education program for the entire school including Blacksmithing, Ceramics, Fibers, Fine Metals, Glass, Printmaking, Woodworking, Youth arts + Online workshops. Schedules, plans and executes over 150 workshops a year within mediums above. In addition to the programming, this position is responsible for the hiring + management of the Education team. This includes 6 Studio Coordinators and 6 Studio Assistants, all of which are seasonal positions. Responsible for the execution of programming, the safe operation of shops and cultivation of our core values through building community with the wider craft world. Responsible for outreach programming and aligning with the organization's strategic plan while expanding all programming. 

Parsons - The New School, New York NY (2015-2021) 

  • Associate Director of The Making Center (2020-2021)

    • Directed a large arm within the Making Center organization. Oversaw all analog making across campus. Responsible for the oversight of management + technical staff in the Wood Shops, Metal Shop, Sewing Facilities, Textiles + Dye Labs, Knitting Studios, Ceramic + Casting Facilities, Light & Energy Lab and our Tool Checkout Centers across campus. Responsible for staffing in those spaces and upholding community standards in alignment with the Health & Safety office. Collaborated with Faculty + Programmatic Leadership to align curricular needs with physical Making capacities. Served as Parsons Staff Council Co-Chair.

  • Manager of The Making Center (2018 – 2020)

    • Works closely with upper management to implement administrative support for staff hiring, scheduling, and committee work. Worked with Directors as well as Management to align Making Center objectives across all Making shops, labs, and facilities, by creating systems and support.

  • Coordinator of The Making Center (2016 – 2018)

    • Coordinated administrative responsibilities across 15 shops and making spaces across campus, a 40 Technicians staff, and a 150 Student Worker force. Worked closely with the Director, Associate Directors as well as management to align Making Center objectives across all shops, labs, and facilities, by creating systems and support.

  • Full-Time WoodShop Technician (2015 – 2016)

    • Oversaw day-to-day operations of the main wood-working facility with access to over 5,000 students, faculty, and staff.  Played a critical role in the training and orientation process for incoming students, & developed and taught specialty workshops in advanced techniques for upper-classmen. Responsible for directing a staff of 8 part-time technicians, inventory tracking & ordering, introducing new tools & materials, and machine & equipment maintenance. 

  • Construction Assistant Manager (2015)

    • Nominated by the Facilities Manager of the School of Art, Media, & Technology and appointed by the department head for the School of Constructed Environments to lead a team of 20 students, alongside 3 faculty members, in the total renovation of the Riverside Park Field House on the Upper West Side of NYC.

  • Part-Time WoodShop and Metal Shop Technician (2015)

    • Ensured safe and proper usage of tools, machines, and equipment in the main woodshop and metal shop used by undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty.  Responsible for supervising a team of 12 student workers and running orientation sessions for fine arts, furniture, and product design students.

The Furniture Society (2024-Present)

  • Serving as Interim Board President 

  • Board Vice President + Executive Board Member

    • Upholds the mission of the Furniture Society while questioning and broadening the field of this craft. Developing a 5 year strategic plan with fellow board members to scale, stabilize and innovate the organization. Working on staffing structures, data collection + streamlining of offerings. The Vice President role provides leadership to the Executive Committee, the Executive Director as well as the wider board.

    • Upholds the mission of the Furniture Society while questioning and broadening the field of this craft. Works collaboratively with the board to envision, plan and execute programing and membership initiatives to create and foster community.  Functioned as Executive Board Secretary, upholding many admin responsibilities.

    • Introducing woodworking while empowering people through making from California to Maine and everywhere in between. Broadening the field of woodworking one person at a time, 425+ humans so far!
